The Resurrection Power & Living Bread Ministries International as we know it today, first started as a non-denominational fellowship known as Bethlehem Evangelistic Group in the bubbling suburb of Santasi in the Kumasi metropolis in the late 1970’s. The fellowship meetings used to be held in an area which was shaded by a lot of trees in Santasi. The core leaders of the fellowship comprised, the late Rev. Akwasi Amoako (Founder), Evangelist Elvis Akwasi Asare Bediako (Current Archbishop & General Overseer), Evangelist Richard Owusu (Current Deputy General Overseer).
In the year 1989, after years of hesitation by the late Rev. Akwasi Amoako to grant his blessings for the fellowship to establish a formal church, he finally agreed to the proposition and the Living Bread Christian Center was established by the current Archbishop, Rev. Akwasi Asare Bediako and a few other men of God. In the year 1993, the fellowship known as Bethlehem Evangelistic Group and the Living Bread Christian Center were registered as one church under the umbrella “RESURRECTION POWER & LIVING BREAD MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL”. Several branches of the church have since been established across the length and breadth of Ghana and oversees with Archbishop Akwasi Asare Bediako as the general overseer.
In 1996, the first branch of the church in the United States was established in the United States at the Bronx (4132 Park Avenue) in New York by Archbishop Akwasi Asare Bediako, his wife and a few other believers. In 2010, the then Pastor Samuel K. Danso was appointed to be the resident Pastor at the Replib 4132 Park Avenue branch. Through Pastor S.K.’s outstanding leadership and hard work, the church experienced exponential growth and expanded into other states within North America. Pastor S.K. Danso was elevated to his current position of Apostle due to his dedication to his calling. The church currently has 7 branches across 6 states within the United States. Apostle S. K. Danso is the current North America Regional Overseer.
